Star Wars Mini-Bust: Lobot

In Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Lobot was in charge of Cloud City’s day to day operations as well as Lando Calrissian’s Chief Administrative Aide and Cloud City’s computer liaison officer. His loyalty to Lando eventually led to him being captured after the city in the clouds fell to the Empire as they were attempting to evacuate.   This bust will serve to remind us all of his bravery against the evil galactic Empire.

This morning’s reveal is for the new Collector’s Gallery statue and it is VERY early.  It so early that we don’t even have a digital render to show you, just one of our pieces concept art for the character.   We will have an updated look at the statue in a few weeks at Star Wars Celebration, but for now think of this announcement more like a character announcement rather than a concept/pose announcement.  This statue will change and we will share the progress updates with you as we get further along. 

Darth Revan of Star Wars: The Old Republic Collector’s Gallery Statue

Sometimes Jedi, sometimes Sith, sometimes prodigal knight, the man knows as Revan played a pivotal role in both the Mandalorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War in the time of The Old Republic.  While fighting in the Mandalorian Wars, young Revan donned the mask of a fallen Mandalorian warrior and became Revan.  He then joined the Republic army and was soon appointed to be the Supreme Commander of their forces and was a military commander to be reckoned with.   Shortly thereafter he and his friend Malik discovered a reformed Sith Empire and was turned to the dark side of the force by the new Sith Emperor, thereby becoming Darth Revan.

Each limited edition, hand-painted piece is cast in high quality polyresin with crisp details in his mask, armor and duel lightsabers. This statue also comes individually numbered with a matching certificate of authenticity. This Star Wars: Darth Revan Collectors Gallery statue is part of our new series of 1:8 scaled statues, celebrating the last 40 years of the Star Wars universe.

For those watching Star Wars: A New Hope back in 1977, “Ben” Obi-Wan Kenobi was the original “Last Jedi.”  For our 2017 Premier Guild exclusive 1:6 scale mini-bust we see Obi-Wan Kenobi, desert recluse and mentor, locked in the fateful duel from the original Star Wars film as he faces down his former padawan on the Death Star. With his hood up, lightsaber ignited and a steely determination in his eyes, Obi-Wan stands his ground against his former pupil and makes the ultimate sacrifice to help save the galaxy.

What is the Gentle Giant Premiere Guild?

It’s way more than a “fan club.”  It’s a place to let your voice be heard.  It’s a place to get exclusive products.  It’s things you get to see that no one else gets to see. It lets you get a first crack at many new items. Plus, it’s discounts, coupons, double rewards points, raffles, some surprises mailed to you AND a gift!

 

What is new this year?

A LOT!  This year we have overhauled the Premier Guild and we are trying something new with tiered membership! We are adding new levels of membership to accommodate the different types of collectors out there.   If you are a Premier Guild member just to get the con exclusives, we have a level for you, if you want everything to stay the same as you have done for the past membership years we have a level for you, if you are a hardcore Gentle Giant Ltd fan and want some super rare items we have a membership level ready for you!

We also want to make the Premier Guild more personal this year with more sneak peeks, more behind the scenes, some Q&As and even a chance for the two 2 tiers to vote on and pick a bust that we will then make!

 

What do I get if I join?

YOU get to decide that! Depending on what level you choose it’s a LOT!  ANY level you choose you will get the cost of membership back in the form of something amazing!!  You can compare the three levels of membership and their benefits from the chart below and decide what level is right for you.

 

Why are you changing things this year?

We know not every person collects the same way or the same things, so we wanted to give everyone options this year to collect how YOU want to collect!  And we think we have come up with some pretty sweet incentives for each of the levels.  But if you like things just the way they were we have a tier that keeps things the same as years past with a few added bonuses.

 

Do we still get discounts?

YES!  And the higher the tier the better the discounts you get.  Each tier of membership will receive some percentage off all their orders of non-exclusive/regular release products placed directly through the Gentle Giant Website.

 

Are there still going to be Premier Guild Exclusives?

Oh yes! Premier Guild members have the firsthand opportunity to purchase any exclusive that we create. This includes all distributor, international, and convention exclusives. Members also have the opportunity to pre-order and post-order San Diego Comic Con Exclusives before anyone else. While supplies last.  Each tier will have an exclusive window to order the exclusives starting with platinum first, then gold then silver.

Warcraft Gul’Dan Statue Behind The Scenes

Indebted to a demonic lord and pitted against the mentor he betrayed, Gul’dan is one of a handful of fel orcs on Draenor, his visage and shamanic power twisted balefully by demonic communion. The outcasts he leads, the Stormreaver clan, now fight to wrest their “rightful” place in the Iron Horde from Gul’dan’s former master Ner’zhul . . . and to tempt a great army of orcs into infernal corruption.

From Gentle Giant LTD/3D Systems comes the warlock of the Stormreaver Clan and founder of the Orcish Horde, GUL’DAN! In order for this incredible statue to be as screen accurate as possible it was created using digital files provided by Legendary Pictures.

Gul’dan is a large, incredibly complex statue standing at 18″ high and 15″ wide with a variety of materials used to capture his costume and appearance accurately.    Our Gul’dan statue features the character in his shaman robes holding his staff, with every bone, horn and skull represented.

Gul’dan was cast as almost 100 separate pieces before being hand assembled and hand-painted.   Here are some behind the scenes shots of the digital sculpt of this striking new statue from Gentle Giant LTD.
